Annual Girls Trip
Each Summer the girls go on a relaxing getaway together for the weekend. Our goal is to bond and to get to know one another better as we enjoy each other’s company and the fun activities that we have planned. Good food is always a must, along with lots of laughs. In the past, we have taken trips to Glen Rose and to Austin, yet no matter what we do or where we go, we have a ton of fun.

Annual Guys Trip
Once a year the men of The Prayer Room pack up and head to the wilderness for the weekend. We camp, swim, hike, and eat for the 2 days that we are in God’s creation, and have daily times of worship under the stars. In years past we have gone canoeing, rock climbing, and spelunking. We do our best to make it as easy to participate in both financially and physically as possible. We normally take the guys trip in June or July.

Community Nights & Events
From time to time members of the community plan game nights, pool parties, movie nights or community outings. Of course we are a people that love to eat, so groups sometimes just go out for a meal after an evening prayer meeting, or donuts after an a.m. set. These events aren’t planned but fellowship and relationships are organic, so these impromptu outings form community as much as the structured events.

GBF & Solemn Assembly
“Can the friends of the bridegroom mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them…then they will fast (Mt. 9:15).” In January 2002 the Global Bridegroom Fast (GBF) began as a monthly, three-day “global solemn assembly” of believers unified by the Holy Spirit in worship, prayer, and fasting. Focused on and sustained by experiencing the love of Jesus as the Bridegroom God, this fast is a worldwide concert of prayer when believers unite to seek the Lord’s face—at the same time, with the same burdens, and in the same Spirit. There are now thousands from across the world that join in on this fast each month. The Prayer Room encourages the community to join together on the last day of the GBF each month (Wednesday Night from 7-9PM) for a special prayer meeting with a focus on repentance, we call this special meeting our Solemn Assembly (Jo. 2:11-17). “Then King David said, "I will surely buy it from you for a price; nor will I offer...to the LORD my God that which costs me nothing (2Sa. 24:24)."

One Thing Kansas City Trip
Of all the many activities we do at TPR, the annual OneThing Kansas City road trip is one of our favorite bonding times. Many of us are so busy and only really have time to see each other before, during and after the prayer meetings, so its nice to just shove yourself in a car full of amazing people and drive to KC. You get to catch up with everyone, you hear awesome stories, have some deep conversations, all lots of munchies…its pretty much the perfect road trip. IHOP KC puts on this annual young adult conference over the New Year (late Dec. to Jan 1st) as a means for our generation to come boldly before the Lord while the veiled world is partying. The focus of the conference is intimacy with Jesus; desiring just ONETHING (Ps. 27:4), and covers a variety of related themes including wholehearted devotion, prayer, end times, and justice. It’s the perfect bonding experience bringing in the new year praising the Lord with thousands of like minded believers. We invite all those interested in being involved with The Prayer Room to come along with us and grasp the big picture about what we are laboring for here at TPR.

Saturday Night Food & Fellowship
Each Saturday night in between our 5-7pm prayer meeting and the start of our weekly teaching time WE EAT! We spend this time each week fellowshipping over some snacks and catching up on each other’s week. This time of food and fellowship is an absolute must for us who jokingly like to say that we have enough wisdom from the scripture to know what it is to fast and what it is to FEAST! Starts at 7pm each Saturday night as part of our weekly Encounter Service.

The Lord's Supper
From time to time The Prayer Room celebrates the Lord’s supper as a community. In place of our weekly teaching time during the Saturday night Encounter service we take the time out to remember the Lord’s sacrifice on the Cross by taking the elements of The Last Supper that Jesus had with His disciples found in Matthew 26, Mark 14, and Luke 22. We then give the opportunity to reconcile any relationships that may have been weakened or broken within the community, and enter into a time of worship to the Lord. We then spend the rest of the night edifying each other, and eating a potluck feast together in which everyone has brought something to the table whether it be a main dish, side item, dessert etc.
